how long does it take for one to grow back onto a tree?

do they even grow back?

Yes they do. Takes 1-2 RL weeks.

Grow back? If you plant them then 1-2 weeks on the right forest type. Otherwise they dont regenerate on their own.

The regeneration of Items in limited qualities in tree is based on decays which is entirely random so it can be a very short span of time or takes much longer than you expected.

The problem with mulberries is the size of the hitbox of the tree. From what I've seen, decay occurs on the integral coordinates, the units tiles are divided up into, and not just by tile, so a decay tick can easily miss a mulberry while a birch, which has a much larger hit box, would have been hit.

That sounds right, I've had a mulberry tree take a month for the last tick.
