Blocking door with HF

Is it still possible? I tried to do it on 2 types of house (timber and log cabin) but it doesn't work:
In log house I can only place HF like that:

And it doesn't even block the door.
In log cabin I tried to block it like that:

But I couldn't place the sign. How can I do it to block the door? I'm on my claim.

It is possible. All you have to do is hold the shift key while placing your HF. It'll take a couple trie to get it in the exact spot you need it, but you can do it.

hold SHIFT while building allows you to start the construction sign however you want.

I will however point out that I personally am offended by these HF locks and break them and raid the place every time i see one. Build a pally, build a wall but if I see one of those things your hf and probably the shit inside is GONE.
