Newb Question- Can't get game to start?

Im a newb, and can't even get into the game... LOL
My java stops at "Downloading Application." When I tried "Enders Client" all I got was a black screen after the first log-in screen. Any help would be much abliged.

It could be lag.
Try again. If not, re download the client, and make sure you update it, and follow the instructions for editing the run.bat file.

YOU HAVE EXACTLY SAME PROBLEM WITH ME

here's my symptom.
Installed Java SE Development Kit 7u5, x86 (newest version)

and the test shows that java runs properly.
(it says java's working properly.)

but i can't run hnh by any client(default, ender, arksu, etc)

when i run default client it always stops here(same as Experimax said)


and ender

totally black(can't even close the window. i closed it by finishing process javaw.exe)

arksu doesn't even start. after dos pops up the client starts and closes itself in about 3seconds

i've got this problem since i reinstalled Win7 OS on my computer.(also formatted.)

is there anyone who got the same problem with me?
or anyone who solved this?

newest Java is 7u6 since today...

check for ports in Router/Firewall - check whether some Antivirus program is blocking - clear Java Cache - set Java Network Settings for direct connection

anti-virus program was the problem. i was using avg free edition and when i stopped it default client worked.

get free microsoft security essentials - does it as good as other free av - doesn't nag and runs flawless from my experience

I see. I was using mse last time but i changed it after formatting my computer... so it was the problem.
