caves, thier use or what they good for?

i was just wonderin around, tryin to eat up a lot of excess bread when i came across a hole in a cliff. i spent a hour walkin around in there and seen a lot of stalagtites and a pool of water. What are these good for, can i mine in there? is there something i can find in there.

All the info you can give me bout caves and thier uses, would be Swell.

Nothing, and you should tell me where it is so I can fill it in.
There certainly aren't valuable herbs in there, nor is there a chance for a mine location. Not at all.

i mean i spent an hour just walkin around in there and saw nothing really on the ground. and i had a torch lit and everything.

for finding cave bulbs you need a certain amount of perception and exploration. don´t know how high these skills got to be, but i had perception around 65 and exploration around 40, when i found my first cavebulb.

and second and also important, when you haven´t got a mine, you can use a cave to make certain sorts of cheese.
