Combat help

Postby gripper123 » Mon Aug 20, 2012 4:29 am

Hi everyone, me asking again.

How do I punch an enemy in combat? I mean I can't hit a simple frog, I "jump" until my atk bar is full and then I try to "punch" but I miss ALWAYS, what I'm doing wrog?

Thanks ^^

In combat you can't "miss" (unless you're speaking of ranged combat then yes you can). You need to drain the opponent's defence bar (the blue one), before you can deal damage to it. When calculating how much of the bar is reduced, it takes into account the attack weight (for punch it's directly your unarmed combat), and the defensive weight of the opponent. The system really isn't intuitive at all when starting.

I'd advise just checking out Dataslycer's Guide to Combat as it really helps better understand the system. Even though Data quit, if you have any questions about the guide feel free to post them in his thread and either me or someone else will help you out.

If you only have 1 ua it acts as if its 0, you will do nothing. Usually the case with people who cant kill frogs.

Like the people before said, you should probably read the guide to combat first to get an idea of how Unarmed Combat works first before you try fighting. You might get yourself killed by accident... well.. not by fighting frogs, but still. It also wouldn't hurt to upgrade your UA skill to say.... maybe 10-15 so you actually do something to the opponent's, be it a frog or some ants, defense bar.
