Silk Worm timings with lag

Postby dariun » Wed Sep 12, 2012 12:42 pm

Hi all

Am just wondering what the rough timings are for moths/silkworm hatching etc in comparison to the standard timings?

During the lag I have noticed no lag on my wood pali or other items such as baskets and crates left outside so am assuming the timings would be affected?

Took me a long long time catching a breeding pair during lag, dont want to mess it up!

thanks!

pretty sure the lag won't affect it much, i make silk myself and the lag doesn't change the time any much ( if that was ur question )

Timing is not so exact, the only step on the procces where you can actually loose them is when they are in the herb tables, because they are not fed there, and I confess I have forgoten eggs in the tables after they hatched for about 2/3 hours and they came up ok when placed with the leaves, so I dont think lag would harm them.

When they hatch I place them in cupboards with 4 leaves for each one, I place 14/16 and the rest full of leaves, if I forget them, I just get eggs so I dont loose them. As they give 6/8 eggs for each couple and 14/16 are in the best case 7/8 couples the cupboard gets full of eggs.
What has given me better outcome is to control that in each cupboard are the exact same number of males and females, but that is if I remember to check, if not the difference is that I might get a smaller number of eggs.

What helped me a lot when my first time to catch them was using the "show other gobs path" in Enders, so I stood on their way and clicked them when they where aproaching to me.

When I happen to get some eggs of higher Q, I wait for them to hatch in the tables and I place them with the leaves inside an alts inventory (now I am using 2 travellers sacks, but at the beginning just had 1) so if I get griefed I dont loose this better Q ones. They survive, eat and give eggs ok in there with no need of checking them.
