Beehive not producing wax?

Postby Jacobian123 » Tue Sep 18, 2012 11:18 am

Just a quick question, do I need to do something specific to get a beehive to produce wax? Because mine has been up for serveral irl days now and it hasn't done anything. Please help :?

Nope. Surround your hive with crops and wait. It's all about luck. (If I remember correctly, if there's multiple hives sharing same crops it'll slow down the process.)

These need to be actively growing crops too. Full grown crops will not produce wax or honey.

Ah right forgot to mention. Everytime you plant / crops grow, there's a chance the hive produces wax / honey. :)

this isn't confirmed, but there's rumours that if you don't harvest the honey, there will be more wax

I would love to know this for sure and how is done, please. ;)

This is what I know so far:
A hive can only hold up to 5 wax at the time, so if you plant actively around it produce and dont harvest it, you loose it.

The best way I have found for the hive to give me nice amount of wax is to plant the entire radius it afects, ofc with only one hive in the center. I have several different vegies planted in the radius, so they have different times of growth and I do harvest them as soon as they are ready and imediatly replant, this way I allways have wax.

Some players do this with carrots that have the shorter time of growth and get nice Q wax. But there is a bug in hives that resets the Q of the wax to 100, so if you plant vegies with Q over 100 and want nice Q wax have to leave a toon near the hive for each stage of growth and change the hive each time you make a new plantation. I have not done this yet, so Im only telling what I have been taught and I can be making a mistake.

Are you able to get both honey AND wax with that?

This is kinda becoming a problem. I've been constantly replanting wheat and other crops around the beehive and it's produced nothing. Am I experiancing a bug? :/

Had that too a while when starting farming at a new place - after planting carrots regularly close to beehive it started producing and still does when other crops planted...also make sure no one else is harvesting honey or wax...

You might try to replace a hive too.
