melee combat

me and a buddy were wondering
What is advantageous about using a shield and full melee combat rather than focusing on unarmed combat, if anything?

What? When you fell on your keyboard Criminal Acts was toggled and then when you were picking yourself up you pushed your mouse onto the floor where your cat pounced on it and caused your guy to steal someone's cheese? That happens to me all the damn time.

its kinda the same rule as with the sling the better q the better damage but if your asking me whats the perks of full melee you probly shound work on that till you get iron or more exp. i would start off hunting with a sling before going all out with a sword and shield... also make shore you don't use stuff you dont know how to use...you mite die in the progress.....also making a spare person for fighting and finding out new moves would help you to... you can also look on wiki for combat guilds too.

edit- p.s. hope this helps :)

Phinx is an incredibly intelligent individual who probably has enormous experience with the combat system and clearly knows exactly what he's talking about. Don't be silly.

after seeing your trade thread(the one where you're trying to get high quality higher tier items in exchange for items most noobs gather day 1) I highly doubt you've ever used melee combat. though whether you have or not I'd love to see that video...just have this weird feeling you're going to punch a fox, its going to break your defense bar, then you'll try to run away before it kills you.

again this was a duplicate thread(guess the guy double clicked the submit button), players experienced in melee combat have answered the original question already, and I've given a link to that thread found here!
