horse skull?

So i was raiding my abandoned village so i could help the new one i'm in, and as i was takin a coffer back to my boat i saw what looked like a horse/deer/camel/dragon skull on the ground.
I put the coffer down and selected "pick" on the "skull" but nothing happened... i have never seen this before and i didn't get an item, i'm at full natural if this makes any difference.
I searched the wiki for "skull" but it only came up with yeomanry and troll skull... any suggestions?

No, i assumed it was a curiosity, i recently raised my exp to 45 so i assumed that's why i hadn't seen it before.
My leader is right, that place is cursed.

What terrain type were you in? and whats your exploration?

...i cannot remember what terrain type...
it' not one of the things i was paying attention to, i was todl that there were bandits near there and not to even go there in the first place, i was looking out for them.
either grass, the yellow stuff, or the pink stuff.

my per is 22 and exp is 45, 990 when x'ed. If i did it right.

Might've been Feldspar, you only have a chance to pick it up when your nature in your beliefs, plus it spawns in the moor (yellow grassland)

...oh wow, it was that. I feel utterly retarded now.
Oh well, If i ever guide newbie hearthlings of my own some day, I'll tell them it was a skull.
