How To Obtain "NP" (or Numen Points)?

You have to build an ancestral shrine/have the "Ancestor Worship" skill. Then, go to your character sheet, and switch to the "Beliefs" tab. See where it says "The Ancestors"?

Image

The first item (glass in the pic) it shows is what you get numen points for to use your prayers: Image

The second and third items (silk thread and pea pod in example pic above) do what that "Forfeit" button does: resets what your ancestors want. But if you already have numen, pressing the 'Forfeit' button will cost half of that numen. That's what those second and third items are for: to forfeit without losing any numen.
Sidenote: No need to press the 'Forfeit' button after you make a secondary sacrifice. Its automatic

Also, if you are at full change, there is only a 30% chance per sacrifice that you will get +1 numen. Conversely, at full tradition you'll get +3 numen per sacrifice.

How to make a sacrifice: Find the desired item (again, glass in the example pic above) and "fuel" your ancestor shrine with it like you would a stick to a kiln. (Pick it up with cursor and right click on your shrine). It must be your shrine that you built yourself for it to work.
Hope this helps :D

No. Once a character is dead, it's dead. Through what Grim said you can gain a percentage of your ancestors stats for a limited time, but that's about it.

You can't get anything back from a drowning, but if the person who killed you was courteous than you can get your gear back.

How so? If it's a deep river in real life would you dive to the bottom of the river bed with no breathing apparatuses just to recover some shit that can be acquired so easily again? I know I wouldn't. Not in real life nor the game if that was possible. Sure, it sucks to lose that stuff, but this late in the world you can either trade or make that stuff again.

Well, you can inherit some of your older characters stats when you died. When you make a new character, their will be runestones on the left side of the cave where you can inherit some of your dead characters stats. The amount of stats that you inherit depend on where your tradition/change slider was at on the character that died (Full tradition recieve 25%of stats and full change lose 75%).

Yeah, it sucks to drown. I was lucky to get the advice to not buy the swimming skill to avoid drowning. but hell let this be a lesson to ya. Dont buy the swimming skill. :D

Sorry if my info didnt help as well as Grim's and Fiction's.
