Plant and Seed Quality while Farming

Ok so at one end of my wheat field, i get only ql 1-3 seeds, but on the other end i get 6-12 ql seeds. I have 23 farming, buffed, but for some reason, i get these ql seeds whereas, in other places, i can harvest ql 23 or so wheat seeds.

I know that in the past i have, in my field, used the higher ql seed of the two that i harvested, and replanted the lower ql.

Does planting a lower ql seed result in a low ql plant, which will then give even lower ql seeds, or vice versa?

Fist off, you need to be replanting the higher q seeds, to continuously improve the quality harvested. Use the the lower q seeds for cooking etc.

Planting low quality seeds should still see some improvement on one of the 2 seeds harvested, both should not be lower than what was planted (in your stats scenario).

^^I say in your stats scenario, as I'm not sure of the last statement in the case where, eg. you have a farming skill of 24 and someone gives you a q80 seed... I would think that your inferior farming skill, compared to the seed quality would see you harvesting both seeds at sub q80. Would like some of the pro's here to comment on that though.
