How do I lay stone underground?

Like the subject says, for the purpose of building second mine holes and palisades?

1.get some stone(chip from rocks/dig from mountain/etc)
2.plow where you want to lay stone
3.lay stone on plown field. 1 stone costs each tiles

I didn't realise there was a limit as to how far from the mine hole you had to pave XD

Keep in mind that you have a distance to cave walls where you can't pave - so better place supports and dig out an area for paving (and you don't need to plow when laying stones on cave floor and no need /way to pave on dug out areas - the plain grey ones)
