There was a prayer that was easily abused in world 3 that gave a seed who's quality is equal to your ancestor's farming skill or something to that effect. Obviously its been fixed since then. However someone from W3 will be able to explain it a whole lot better than I did, but that's the gist of it.

That prayer had nothing to do with it, but A.D. might have abused it, though Sodom still had top quality rings. A.D. accused Sodom of "abusing" the effect of tobacco which was to raise pscyhe. Sodom had some allies and pretty much their whole ally network fed some person from Hivemind cavebulbs for Psyche. I believe the person was Miss Emily.

Back then rings were made without gold beaters, so their quality was sqrt(PSY*Smithing) so with enough investment it made Q1300 jewelry, I believe it got so high quality it crashed the server and loftar had to raise the maximum quality limit.

Mines were also just a minehole with an amount of ore so great they were for all practical purposes, unlimited, and weren't connected like they are now. With this unlimited ore, factions could sell gold without much drain to them. There was about 3-4 gold nodes the entire world though.

IIRC there was also a gold node right across the world's border and it caused much butthurt. I believe when the world was expanded the Koreans and A.D. had a fight over it. Or it might have been W4 and since there were no expansions that world it just caused butthurt.

i remember when the world was expanded to include that gold mine at the border - world 4 introduced the new mining system, as well as goldbeaters skins iirc

The person that they fed with cavebulb was Miuka, not Emily. I am sure that there were more than just 4 judging from how many faction had multiple gold mines. The war of the gold mine was world 3 as well when A.D. expanded a village claim they had placed quite some timem before a world expansion and took advantage of it after the server started. The Korean wasn't able to mount sufficient resistance.

To correct some facts: Sodom didn't feed Miuka with cavebulbs. Most of them she received from Alice, Nyarl and koreans, barter stands of the Constantinople and other trade deals (in particular, with Sarah Jane and argentinian friend Eduardo).

Here are her stats: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8708&p=158094#p158094

Sodom provided tobacco/hemp with the most possible quality. Such tobbacco could rise PSY up to ~5000.

I'm not sure if there were q1300 monocles though. They were always capped by sand, clay, fuel, silk qualities and PSY*smithing didn't improve quality, just soft-capped it. So I don't think it was possible to obtain q200+ monocle in any legit way.

I think it was Thanes, rather than monocles, which were breaking a thousand mark.
