log stacking question

I've always wondered, if you were to stack up a certain amount of logs in 1 spot, if some of the logs disappear.
For example if i stacked up 1000 logs in the exact same square, would all 1000 logs be there?
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I'd say as logs are permanent until processed or moved. However, I can imagine a 1k log stock would give some graphics problem to some people.

Iv had 1000+ logs on one spot for months on end. Shouldn't be any problems.
