Hemp or Flax

Hi, I have been searching ALL OVER for hemp or flax. Could you tell me what skills I need to find it? Does it take a certain exploration level? I have foraging...

anyone can see it, but most of the wild crops in the main grid have been picked. last time i was at the rob there were a bunch of unclaimed crops just east of it. if there's none there, i'm sure someone will trade you some for some fish or something.

Been pretty self sufficient until now, but I need it, I will check near the rob where you said, but when I started I wandered east at first and didnt find anything. I was primarily trying to find trees at the time though

I've just started the game and I'm looking around for hemp or flax as well so I can get a string for my rod and all the other things you need it for, however I've had no luck so far. Are there any specific type of terrain I should be looking for? Also, how do I know if I'm in the "main grid"?

Both types of grassland and one of the swamps (the one with leeches, I think). BTW, you can use spindly taproot as string.

It depends on where you started. If you started in the middle of a ring of stones like Stonehenge near lots and lots of houses and claims then you started in the maingrid. If you started at another charterstone such as Novigrad you probably started in the maingrid but you would have to give the name of the charterstone town to be sure.

If basically there is pretty much nothing but trees around then it is doubtful that you started in the main grid. If you started at a random locationin woods like these.... it's anyone's guess where you are and there is no map. You could be absolutely anywhere.

I started in a very grey and desolate town, it did have a guide stone or something from there I went northwest, stole someone's boat and went up there river for like 45 minutes I think I still ended up somewhere in the Northwest, I've encoutered people once now (on the river). Also a few of the trees east of my village have been cut down. For the rest no traces of anyone having been here.
