How to Build a Bonfire

My friend and I have a bonfire built but it wont let us light it. We know that we need wood but the bonnfire wont let us right click wood to drop in it. Can anyone tell me how to light the bonfire/fuel it?

Did you try to left click+ drag wood to Bonfire?

There is a minimum requirement to how much fuel the bonfire needs before you can light it (it will change sprite when it's possible to light it).
Because you can use 25 blocks of wood, or 50 branches, it would make more sense to use the 50 braches instead. Since you would only need 10 blocks of wood to split into all those branches.
You can also light the bonfire with four logs of wood as the fuel.

i think you also need the skill "The Symbel" to light it.

at least one of them does, not necessarily both of them
