Is there a guide to how to track? Every time I track I just get lost in the wilderness somewhere

Then you have a scent, if you track the hearth fire, a pie slice will appear. Somewhere in that pie slice will be the perp's hearth fire. If you track the perp, it will be the same (if the perp is online), but it will point to the toon that committed this crime.

The size (delta) of the pie slice is based on your perc*intel versus their stealth*intel

If the perp/hf is in a house, the slice will point towards the door of that house. If the perp's hf is on another layer (cave, mining layer 2, 3 ...) the slice will point towards the same location (with the same coordinates) but on the floor you are.
So for example if you track and you find an empty spot where the slice points at, you should be able to find the hf when you build one or multiple mine holes here. (but it's best to just find a cave/minehole nearby)
