I would assume it's the average of Steel and leather, then S*L/2? Not sure. :?

Quality for all full metal products are calculated with the formula: quality = (qMetal*4 + qAnvil*1.5 +qHammer*1.5)/7

so probably it is average of material as toshiro said in place of qMetal in this formula.

we figured it out once, a long time ago. i don't remember the exact formula but i know that steel is weighted much more heavily than leather, something like (qleather + 5*qsteel) / 6

and of course hammer and anvil and smithy cap count

The world is ending so I thought. Why not waste some of that low Q steel and figure out that formula for the B12.
Here is the model I used:

( ( (Qsteel * 5 + Qleather) / 6 ) * 4 + 1.5 * Qhammer + 1.5 * Qanvil ) /7 = QModel

Code: Select all
(hammer) (anvil) (leather) (steel) (QB12) (non-roundedModel)
109        107      20        15      55    55.3333333333333
109        107      20        18      56    56.7619047619048
109        107     110        15      63    63.9047619047619
109        107     145        16      67    67.7142857142857

Fits perfectly. Thanks for the hints sabinati and bitza. Its confirmed.

My crafters stats. Its a bit hard to say what skills softcaps it though.

haha i did the same and wasted my steel for a B12

you're sure about the formula as how it's posted? i get this when i do with your given top row

( (75 + 20) / 6 ) * 4 + 163,5 + 160,5 = 387,333

or is it me being stupid at math?!? :?

i can't tell a formula - 2 pcs HL q 81 + 82 and steel from q16 - 60 with 102 anvil+hammer - 455 smithing and got a q66 B12
