Being an efficient newb

Postby Meowth47 » Sun Jun 02, 2013 5:52 pm

So, thinking about the incoming world.. I'm curious as to what people think would be a good time to start putting points into skills like survival and farming/cooking (whichever skill is needed for the person's job) instead of buying actual skills to unlock everything.
I've always just done whatever, but in the new world where we all have small LP intake, what would you guys suggest?

Given the survial change, expleration and survial seem to be the big ones to start with, then depending on what you want to do right off. It would vary. Sowing might be good at least to maby 20 for better cnettle clothing (as you get your survial up that that high to find that good of nettle).

Explore and survial are very much key skills to start with now. Sowing, cooking, farming ect... that will help you work on the others would come next. But this is just my thoughts.

But after buying what skills first would you start putting points into survival and exploration? With such little LP, how do you balance out what is bought?

Buy the very basic skills required, like foraging, hunting, lumberjacking

Throw ALL your points into exploration, find WWW's, stuff carrots, and start foraging for good curios. (get like 20 survival so they aren't shit)

Only after you develop a strong economy (your LP gain) can you begin to worry about other things. Without LP you can't go into survival etc.
Of another era.

In World 6, I was not paying attention to Survival before I got enough per*exp to start seeing my first 1/3 of toadstools. Then i actually paid attention to what I gather and how big QL is it, so I invested a couple points into Survival. This happened to be a good choice, because most of my land around me was Q30+, and I was able to get myself a Q20+ nettle set in quite a few hours.
So, to be short, UP exploration to 30 before you up Survival or something else* (IMO).
Meanwhile up Farming and Sewing on your alts, so you can craft a decent nettle set without dropping its' quality.

If this new survival change is going to hardcap all your foraged curios, I think it's really necessary to get you sruvival up early on as well, so all curios aint q1.

Nope. it's like the 4th time I say this, loftar quoted me saying all qualities will be minimum 10. So the first 10 surv lvls are almost completely useless :D
Hope you have a great day
