Cave-In Question

Postby Tereth » Tue Jun 04, 2013 8:55 pm

What are the condition for a cave-in?

I think I am being safe, but i always seem to induce a cave-in at some point. I looked at the wiki and didn't get too much clarification past what I already understand.

if you mine like 3-4 blocks of a cave it start to get cave-in chances and like 2-3 blocks around the area where you mined get a cave-in chance if you would mine on them.

By building a minesupport you make a area where the cave in chance is removed.

I probably should have phrased that I want to mine w/o using supports. Just wanna find that damn ore! So, w/o supports cave-ins are unavoidable?

Word on the street is that all mining without mining supports has been patched out.

Already seen one cave in by digging two tiles in.

Ok so I thought about this for a bit and am a bit confused. If snake/strategic mining are not allowed, then how will you get the initial nuggets required to make the mine support?
