About mining in W7 - Cave-In Suffocation

I feel really dumb right now because I just read the beginners guide as a refresher and it made no mention of suffocation under cave-ins (which I had firmly believed in up to this point), just on hit damage. Have I been living a lie? Do you really only take 50 damage on cave level?

More then one can hit you, but yes, 50 damage per rock.

I'm not sure to be honest, in w6 everyone just used straight mining and snake mining so we never really had to worry about it.

From my experience it's uncommon to be hit by even 1 rock. My miner got hit by 12 cave ins while straight mining without dying, the 13th finally hit and killed him . I've never seen someone hit by more then 1 though.

I also mined 2 tiles in a row and tried to do snake mining, and it seems that you can't do it anymore
