How do I attack animals with my axe?

I have Militia Training and a stone axe yet all I can do is punch.

Axes aren't weapons because jorb's family was murdered by an axe wielding Swedish student who played too many violent video games.

fyi using chop(even if you have enough UA to tank the hit) will get you slaughtered unless you have good MC...and as you're asking how to chop I'm guessing you probably don't have either.

you should try using a sling early in the game its a lot easier, and safer.

did you have 4 initiative points(the little coins) when you tried to chop? it takes 4 each time you try, so if you plan to use MC against a boar call down thunder from your boat alot first...

or did they change call down thunder and make it useless?
