Can we not build in caves any more?

i have been trying to see what changes were made with the cave system and i canot build houses, chairs, i cannot even build a crate inside my cave. any idea what gives? is there a skill i am missing or something?

did you pave first? I have a few houses in my cave...chairs and tables however could never be built in caves only in houses(as far as I know).

iirc you need to be a certain number of tiles away from the cave entrance to build anything, i remember having this problem last world when trying to build a cart inside.
