is there anyway to inherit the name as well, or delete a previously killed character?

Nope, if the nickname you prefer is for example "BoB" just call you new character BoB II

or you could use spaces, like "Bob_" or "Bob__"
otherwise, you would need another account to use exactly the same name.

by the way, lowercase/capital works too.
if it was "Bob" you could make it "bob" or vice versa.

Or.. add a title to your nickname. For example BoB the Great or BoB the Brave

if the name is very important you can use that name on a new account without the inheritance.
