Can rafts carry battering rams?

Postby SynthAura » Mon Jul 01, 2013 12:03 pm

I don't think they can but I'd like to make sure.

I don't think so. It was suggested as a fix to prevent island vault unrammables, but jorb and loftar made next-to-water unpaveable instead.

So illegal island vaults aren't possible anymore?

No, minehole vaults are not either, and no other illegal vault designs have been discovered and made public.
However, bug-ramming has been removed as well.

nope. it was never possible in w6 either.
i asked loftar to let us carry a ram on a raft in w5, he made a fix to do so, but at the last moment (it was to happen after the next server reset) sab and potjeh told him not to (cause it was in the middle of the world), he changed his mind and refixed it not to happen. it hasnt changed since then afaik.

they didn't make rams raft able because this could be abused pretty bad. most cities are near water so who needs a bug ram, you could just load a dried ram onto a raft like 300+ tiles away and then raft it to their walls.

The problem with rams is the discrepancy between the drying time (24 hours) and the repair time (8 hours).

If it were possible to build rams anywhere and then transport them to the siege location the raided village would only have 8 hours to prepare/defend themselves instead of the intended 24.

Mine hole vaults are actually easier to make now. because you can instead of just blocking the mine hole off from below destroy it completely.
