Effects of silk quality

I am mine-less, so I decided to mine worms for silk. This is all good fun, but is there any use for my low quality silk? How does silk quality affect the final product?

Silk quality is irrelevant for merchant robes, which is the main use for silk ATM. So even low quality silk is easy to sell.
