trees

So the wiki says tree's last stage of growth is random?
Does that mean it could take months for it to be fully grown?
What's the scale of time on this randomness?

i had a tree that was still around after 4 months.... it didnt finally grow, no sir, the world ended.

and then ive had trees do the final stage in barely half a day.

MOST trees will do the last stage in 2-3days. but if one doesnt remember its called random for a reason.

Being "disturbed" during their growth (having any solid creature/object near them when they change growth stage) is supposed to "stunt their growth", which means they will take longer to grow and the final quality will be lower.

Or at least, that's what my village's ranger told me.

"Dang, are your wagons that slow?"

if by "longer to grow" you mean it never grows, then yes. its stunting radious is either 3x3 or 5x5 (i forget) and trees can share the radious, only solid objects inside a trees radious stunt it.

So trees do not affect each other?

if a tree is in the radious of another tree they do. BUT they can share eachothers radious

so if their radious is 5x5 they can be TXXT (T = tree. X = empty)

again though, i dont know if its 3x3 or 5x5/

AFAIK, it's 5x5, so just a roundpole fence 3 squares from the trees will prevent any animal and (truly) accidental Hearthling from interfering.

You still have to weed out ant hills that spawn inside, though...
