P-Claim over V-Claim

I see this often but wonder what the purpose is? Villages will claim their whole village with a p-claim despite having a v-claim.

If I don't do this, could someone from outside my village come along and claim my whole village with their own giant p-claim if I don't have the needed authority to remove it? Why do people do this?

No, you can't claim over a village claim with your p. claim, if you're not part of the village. People do it for a number of reasons, characters to have permissions when authed to a different village, their village doesn't cover all that they want claimed, to get trespassing scents, to have more control over the village. There's more, but I can't really think of them atm.

It does but only if it has sufficient authority levels.

Find it very useful to stay oathed to your "vault" while keeping access to everything at your "village"
OR
You set the permission on the claim owner to allow all tresspass/theft/Vandal for "white". then new toons can just kin you remotely and bam now can fully access everything.(just got to remember not to kin any unfriendly or change the "color"
