Help finding Clay node?

Ok, basically im having a hard time to find a single Clay node in several of the mudflats i ventured in my month of playing.... i need it for obivous reasons but i cant seem to find a node anywhere..... i once went to about 5 large mudflats in a single hour and havent found a node still, i was wondering if anyone knows a trick to finding a node, cause im becoming a little impatient

Dig once every 30-40 tiles. Shallow water can also have clay. You're likely near a shallow water clay spot if nothing else.
