Can't Craft Nettle clothes

I have the cloth making skill, and 10 spiky nettles but the option does not appear. The wiki does not say it needs anything more. I may have even shot myself in the foot by increasing my sewing and having a high dex, yet they still don't appear. The whole crafting menu seem hit or miss a lot of times, I keep having things appearing when as far as I can tell there is no reason I have them, and things I should be able to craft don't appear.

im assuming the character ure crafting them has discovered the nettles themselves?

I don't think theres anything except discovering the item and cloth making which u need. Are you checking the right menu?

Did you pick the nettle from the ground yourself?

Emerald and dageir have already answered you, but just to elaborate:

For all craftables you will need the relevant skill and must have discovered all the items needed yourself, it's no good just finding them in a basket, stealing them or being given them, in the case of nettle clothing, your char has to literally 'pick' the nettles to be able to use them.

So, not a bug. Hopefully this will help you for future crafting.

That is ridicules! I have found nettle before, why do I have to find all of them? that robs the community effort don't it?

You don't have to find all of them, you only have to find it once.

You just have to discover (pick up) each item once with each char to enable crafting recipes (and hey you even get some LP for discovery )

doing nettle cloths requires you picked one from ground yourself (sounds like you did) and buying the cloth making skill (the skill, not the skill value) maybe thats what is lacking?
