Stopping theft in the act

Postby Jyakumino » Mon Jul 15, 2013 7:01 pm

I haven't been able to get the 4k LP to get Yeomanry, and I just caught a couple of people who can't survive on their own stealing my stuff. I couldn't figure out how to attack them or at least knock them out to get my stuff back, what am I missing?

You need this skill to attack other hearthlings, and you need Murder to attack them while they are knocked out (though you can still kill them without it with a few tricks).

Walls + Yeomanry are the best way to stop theft though. They are likely just alts stealing from you.

I'm sorry, that's kinda BS that I have to get 30k LP to be able to attack people. There should be a lower point skill to be able to at least knock people out, I just lost 2 tanning tubs that were almost done.

Consider the fact it costs 30k (+20k for Tresspassing) LP just to steal from you too...

Just take this as a learning experience. You have learned something from this I hope.

Did you miss the part where I said I don't have Yeomanry yet? There should be something small for those of us without it to stop this kinda stuff.

No. I didnt miss the fact your so little along you dont have much in the way of valuables.

Your first priorities should be to get Yeomanry, then get walls around the area you intend to claim. Its just a fact of life in this game.

Feel lucky they didnt just kill you.

One thing you can resort to is to store your most important things in a crate, and when you see thieves coming lift the crate to keep it out of their reach, though they'll be able to steal it once you log off.
Your best bet is to gather LP until you have Yeomanry, after that it becomes easy to build a fence and protect your home.

By the way, nuts and apples are anything but "valuable"...you can find these everywhere.
"Our village is so big, you can hop on a wagon at the idol and ride it all day in the same direction, and you'll still be on our claim"
"Dang, are your wagons that slow?"

If I wanted to get a load of bull from you I'd have brought my cows for you to impregnate!

It's more the fact that they walked off with my tanning tub that was almost done, also a few other things like my fishing rod and bow (not sure why I got archery, it doesn't work anyway). But hauling off with my tub was the main problem.
