Why can't I make a tanning tub?

Is this more of that "I have to discover it myself" stuff? Cause I'm with 3 friends and we are dividing the tasks. I have leather working, my friend makes me planks, yet I cant make a tanning tub. The option wont appear.

You need to make at least one board yourself. You'll need carpentry and a saw.

I made planks, it still does not appear, as far as I have researched I have everything I need for this.

You must have leather working, discovered a hide, dried the hide and taken it off the rack. YOu need to have picked bark, made boards. You need to have picked a branch, a stone, and discovered a bone and then made a stone axe and a bone saw. You need to have discovered water. Finally you must have carpentry.

Miss any step in discovery and an item may not show up.

no...not actually sure you have to discover the raw hide if you discover a dried hide

but just discover everything, and if you're missing something and don't have the materials to make a 2nd use a vending stand to learn it(shift click it from inventory to stand then shift click from stand to inventory then voila).
