Using the Sling to hunt

Okay, I have level 13 Marksman, and a QL7 Sling. I read how to use the sling. Combat -> Shoot -> Left Click animal you want to hunt -> Hold LMB to charge shot. Whenever I hold LMB to charge, my character just fires a shot, and obviously misses.

Can someone please explain to me exactly how to do this. I really would like to start hunting.

Don't HOLD lmb, just click on the animal. Click again when you want to shoot.
