Trading, Oath, Hearthfires.

Postby Linkpwns » Sat Jul 27, 2013 7:54 pm

I would like to start trading but I dont have the materials for a village idol. So could i get oathed into a village trade with them there. And then fast travel back to my hearth fire? Or is my Hearth fire gone after being oathed in?

In order for this to happen, mostly, you would need a HF-less Alt to trade since most player would not be able to teleport far away to the trader's village or trading post.

So if you don't have an idol of your own, your own (Not safe to use main char to trade unless u trust him) trading alt will not be able to return to you.

That doesn't really answer my question?

It does, if you read the part of the HF-less Trading Alt.

You cant go back to your HF if you have no HF >_>"

So the simple answer to your question is No.

instead of "bashing" Windforce who answered well you should do some work yourself - there's a search function, there are different tutorials and there is a damn Ask simple qestions here section where your post should have been at ...

I think the bit link is missing is porting distance being related to agility.

Unless you do the whole trade alt thing, you'd need enough agi to port to the town in question. Since the town can be anywhere on the map, and you need quite a bit of agi for most ports, the answer is no.

which is what windforce was talking about. And as borka said, we're doing our best to help but we're not always mind readers or perfectly able to answer a question in a way that helps. Politeness and patience is appreaciated :)

If you have a village idol, having a hearthfire-less Alt is pretty much the best way to go.
When you send someone to another village by them oathing you in, finish the trade, and get the chieftain or lawspeaker to re-oath you, and teleport to village.
If you have no HF you should be able to teleport to your idol regardless of your travel weariness.

He doesn't have an idol, though.

Linkpwns, these days without an idol you can't do global trade.
If you have a hearthfire, your teleport distance is limited by your agility.
If you don't have a hearthfire, you can't get home without a village idol.
We used to be able to do it with self-summoning to get home but that is no longer possible due to mechanics changes.
I hope you can find someone on your local river system that wants to trade.

Thanks everyone I get how everything works now. I appreciate it. And btw I wasn't trying to 'bash' windforge, rather I was leaving the thread open for more answers and information.
