Can't reach candlestick

Well yeah this is an odd problem I'm having with a candlestick partially "stuck" in a minesupport. I put the candlestick down at that location before the mine support was put up IIRC. I noticed I couldn't pick the candlestick up yesterday but figured that's alright it's in a good position. But today when I had to refresh the candle in it (which I could add a fresh candle to it), I can't get "close" enough to light it:





I'm assuming this is because the center of the candlestick is obstructed by the mine support so a hearthling can't fully reach it for full object interaction. I've tried to lift or light the candle from every direction but it just won't take (although I could drop the new candle into it).

Anyway this is quite annoying having a candlestick there that is unusable, do I have any options except for destroying the mine support to get it out? Also will the cave-in potentially destroy the stupid candlestick anyway?

well, since you're using enders, ctrl+n would take care of any lighting needs in a cave.

As for the candle stick: No it won't be destroyed, yes you'll need to nuke the support (with an alt so you don't die in the cave in)

Cave-ins don't hurt structures, I'd suggest trying to lift the candelabrum, and destroying, see if either work.

@Sevenless: yeah I'll use nightvision if I need to but I like the aesthetics of using in-game lighting, also a couple of my newbies won't or can't use Enders for various reasons.


I guess I'll just tear down the support and rebuild another. My main industry character has a miner's helm atleast, and this is only L1 so it shouldn't be too severe. I'll assume it's an acceptable risk at this point.

avg of 150 damage. I've been hit for 800 on lvl 1 though

think of it like swimming, theres a chance you might make it, but you probably won't. a brand new alt can take out a support since it has no soak(I think), so theres no worries of having to build up a char to take it out.

A newly spawned char can easily destroy supports with a simple axe. Just did it today.
