Regarding Lawspeaking

Postby ArnoldPalmer » Wed Aug 07, 2013 2:27 pm

If a character is currently the lawspeaker of a village and wants to renounce that position, would a character who is currently set up as the Chieftan be able to pick up the role immediately after, or are those roles mutually exclusive? Assuming that can't happen (One character set as Chieftan and LS), is a fresh alt with only "Yeomanry" and "Lawspeaking" (and obviously the prerequisite skills) enough to become the new LS?

Also, is it safe to assume "Renounce Lawspeaker" drains village authority? If so, can anyone give me an accurate figure?

[edit] Heh, I meant to post this in "How Do I?". Should I delete it from here and repost it there, or just ask a mod?

Takes a big of digging around, but wiki has quite a few answers.

but then we would not be able to read all the help and "drama" of the forums if all the newbies went to the wiki all the time.

Heh, true. But if the answer's there I'll save my wrists and link it. The wiki is pretty much a maze and takes a good while to understand the patterns of anyway.

Chieftanor whoever takes over ls needs to have lawspeaking as a skill first.

Yes anyone leaving a town drops authority, not sure on exact figures.

The chieftain has to be removed from job by the Lawspeakers first before renouncing LS job for swapping

To take over LS with ex chief you need Lawspeaker and Charisma 25 minimum - with the chieftain becoming LS he can appoint the old LS being chief (as old LS has LS skill and 25 Auth already)

you can't do both jobs on one char

swapping chars LS and chief shouldn't cost village Auth as they are not leaving the village

New alt, decent bear tali, give alt chief.

It makes things simple enough.

party hat anyone? what I always use on alts for a charisma bonus...not like its something you'll want to grab back from them later, and its pretty crappy materials to make it.
