Threats of death if I don't move.

Postby Cypaytion » Sat Sep 14, 2013 3:35 pm

Hi,
Fairly I'm fairly new, but only play on weekends.
Just wondering:
How scared should I be?
How likely is it that they will kill me?
Should I move now? Later?
Just general thoughts.
Thanks.
(It says 'leave this river system or this will be you')

He probably picked up that skelly somewhere randomly and is a noob.
However he said river system so he probably forages for flots a lot.
Be careful either way

Yup. Up to you. Unless you're ready to put up a brick wall ASAP, you're at risk. He's got you memorized, but you don't know him, so you won't know him until he attacks. (You can mem a character from their claim using ctrl click.)

Odds of getting killed are more based on when you're on compared to when they are on. If you're on at different times, you have nothing to worry about. If you're on at the same time, you're likely to run into each other.

If you do move, don't settle near a river. Make sure you're far enough away that they can't see your claim. Unless you're a couple mini-maps away, they'll see a house or where you've cleared trees, though, so completely hiding yourself is near impossible.

Depending on the area you're at and how many settlements and villages (active) there are it might be a serious thread.
As long you're not connected with the neighbourhood and exchange informations it's hard to know...

I'd look for an alternative place and move step by step - make a Runestone next to the thread one with just: "Will move" ;)

If you got a claim up there already i suggest making an Alt to claim the place and claim the new with main once you found a suitable one and
keep both - but be active on new one and keep this just as a thorn

It's only "yours" if you can hold onto it. New players with real threats (compared to empty threats) usually won't hold onto the land. Can be fun trying, but only if your up to working for it.
