Cave Protection

I dug through to another players cave unknowingly, I found a few high quality minerals on my side. Is there any way to protect "my precious"?
(Really don't want to place a yeomanry. Anyone with certain skills can easily take what they want.)

Your best option is to mine out all of the ore and store it behind your walled base. Your next best option would be to just put a claim over it as that will be enough to deter most people.

Ore is pretty bountiful and unless you've struck gold or silver, people probably won't bother to much to steal yours unless its super high quality.

Also if you want to play fair you'd give the other cave owner an opportunity to mine there aswell as an "equalization" for digging "unknowingly" into his cave
