questions about metalworking

I've just started metal working and im quite scarce on what i can use atm and im desperate for over a q20+ pickaxe as i can only make up to 15.
my highest iron is 16 atm.

Some beginning player stole the rest of the tin i had gotten while i was mining in the cave.

I know the formula for the pickaxe is

(average q metal + Branch q + Anvil q + smithy hammers q)/4 ?
and then soft capped by
sqr- str*smithing

my str is 78
and smith is only 38

can anybody tell me what i can do to manage a q20 axe, other then trading as i do not have any pearls

easiest is probably getting a better ore smelter and fuel, by getting better clay or saw, or digging deeper. better branches help too

I'm kind of tight atm, someone stole my tin, and i cannot get anymore to save my life to make more supports D:

I stopped playing for about 2 months ish and i just happened to find a cave, trying to get some new gear before i actually claim anything and can't get a tree farm atm because im by my self with full indus XD

gah this is challenging.

I also have another question, why did my account get reset on the forums?

My fuel is only q14.
Ore i find is q20-23
smelts down to around 15-16
my saw is q56
axe q16
not sure what q the smelter is probably like 15 or less.

You need a full nat alt.

Get your survival up a ton, kill a bear put its bones with your highest ql branch (prolly 10 in your case). You need a REALLY high ql saw, then get carpentry up to atleast 60 or so. Then start looking for some high ql clay. Try to get atleast a ql 20 kiln. That plus the high ql boards will render decent fuel for a hermit like yourself who can't trade. Then look for more clay and get the smeltor quality higher. Some clay can be found on the river shallows at high PER*EXPLO btw. They usually render at decent ql. Aaaaannd. Last but not least if you build a minehole in a cave or your current mine or wherever you got your metal, you go down a level and I believe all the ore are ql 30 there. Good Luck

Yeah i used some rustroot extract and saw tin bellow me so im working on my way to make enough hardened leather to make a minehole.

Your tools can hamper your quality. Make sure your anvil and hammer are above what your trying to make, if possible.

The easiest way to get better metal q is kiln and fuel as mentioned. Search the rivers for ball clay. Its fairly easy to find nodes in the 30's and 40's. That should give you a boost.

If you have trade items and a idol you can just purchase what you need as well.

if you are talking about the joining date, then it is usually set at the first time you submit a post or a pm iirc.

Must have had two of the same accounts but i dont remember making them its been a month or two since i played and i usually type Puppetlance with a Captial P, so maybe that was why it took me to this one.
Ah well thanks i would have never really even figured it out, i thought it was just maybe due to a reset, then when i didnt see any of my post or anything i was wondering why it said I joined in December.
