Armor Absorption Question

Postby mistermoo7 » Fri Dec 06, 2013 7:02 am

Hi. New to haven and hearth. Love it . Sorry if this question has been answered I looked but didnt see it.
So I have my armor class at something like 100/100 if I understand right it is deflect which basically ignores damage and then absorb which goes against the armor hp.
So my question is. Say we have an animal like ants or a fox.
Idk how much foxes hit for but for arguments sake lets say 90.
My armor has 100 deflect.
My question is does this deflect count for the entire fight. Eg fox hits me once, eats 90 deflect hits me twice eats last 10 and 80 absorb?
Or is the class per hit and 90 damage fox can never damage me or my armor?

Any insight would be great. (Also if you know how much foxes actually do hit for haha)

Thanks!

Please remove your double post.

But regarding armor soak yes. The animals dmg wont affect the armor until it goes above 100 dmg. Then between 100-200 it will affect the armors HP. Above 200 damage will hit the player directly as raw damage but removing the first 200 armor soak and deflect values.

If I recall correctly only bears do around 200 dmg. Other animals hit around 100 dmg and foxes barely do any. Another thing to keep in mind is that unarmed combat always have a 30% armor penetration regardless of armor soak. All animals do unarmed damage so if your hit for 100 dmg from the fox you will have 30 dmg go through. But as stated above they barely do any dmg so you might end up with 10-20 dmg max.

Ranged combat have 0% armor penetration and is the reason people wear armor in general. A non armored character can die to a simple sling attack but even the smallest amount of armor will protect against it.

Yea it's like Xcom said, but remember it may not hurt your equipment but the attacks can penetrate your armour and dip into your hp bar.
