How do I get items that strong players want?

I am a fairly new player and I was wondering what is the easiest/earliest way to get items that high leveled players want to have so that I can trade with them?

Curiosities and unskinned bears are the fastest and easiest to find commodities that new players can get that everyone else wants. You'll need exploration and perception to find floatsam and to boil pearls but people pay out for those goods. Check individual trade threads to see who is buying what for what prices and try to get yourself the best possible deal.

If you fancy combat, or don't mind slinging a bear for 15-20 minutes, then you can get unskinned bears which sell for a bit. These decay rather quickly though so you have only ~6 hours to sell it to someone before it's not worth anything anymore.

Edit: There's also usually a market for bricks. Thousands upons thousands of bricks. This may or may not have changed.

They're known as wall quality bricks because they'll be stuffed into a wall and no one will ever care about their quality. q1+ bricks. =)

also chantrelles are always something I used to buy a lot from new players, and blueberries especially after recruiting, since people get lazy to collect bulk amounts.
