Am I doing something wrong or am I simply too weak???

Postby Zanicus » Mon Dec 23, 2013 8:48 pm

So, I got to 23 UAC. I still have 10 strength. I just tried and killed 3 ants at the same time without using any armor and without getting hurt. Okay, so I tried to kill a level IV fox, and it went pretty bad. I punched it first, and then it bit me and broke about 2/3 of my defense. When I punched it with a full attack meter I took about 3/5 of it's defense bar, but it quickly started filling it back up, but eating my bar. The battle went on, on it's second strike it started doing damage to me. I knew I couldn't run so I kept fighting and it knocked me out pretty fast. My question is, am I doing something wrong or is it only because of my strength? If it is a strength problem, please tell me how to get strength FEPs easily (I can't make sausages yet). Thanks!

It's an unarmed problem, also you are posting in the wrong section, post in the "please ask simple questions here" in the how do i section. You need around 50 unarmed or so to fight a fox easily.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Hi, i'd say your UA isn't the problem, but your agility. Foxes, when you're new have quite high agility in comparison to you, this coupled with armor means they're probably getting twice the moves on you. Maybe try stacking IP before beginning your attack, that way if it eats your defence bar, you can fuel it back up with your attack bar.

Experiment with Oppurtunity Knocks, Float Like a butterfly, Invocation of Skuld and other moves that control advantage and the flow of battle and you might find you'll beat that pesky fox.

Just an FYI, str only affects the dmg output of your punch, in this case it's not a damage problem, but the fact that you couldn't break it's defence. I would also suggest that when you go for the killing blow, to use a weapon such as a sword, or an axe so you deal higher amounts of damage.

Good luck and keep practicing! And remember, foxes won't kill you, they'll only KO you, so they're a great target! All other animals will not stop once you're Ko'd though, so watch out!
I had a retardedly huge signature and have gotten this embarrassing replacement to show for it.

Thank you for your help! I think that I will be able to kill the wretched fox now. Even got 30 UAC in the meantime, so it should be even easier. I can't wait to find one and test if I can slay it. :D
