Stats keep changing

Do the things I do effect my profile? The slider has moved nearly all the way to "change" on the tradition - change character stat. This is the exact opposite of what I want. I am spending all my profile changes to setting it back towards tradition. Is there a way I can stop it from drifting towards change?

Also, my learning rate went from about 183% down to 155% since my last log in. I've switched from an all fish diet to an all beef diet. Is this the cause for that? Or is it part of the game tweaking? Or is it because I'm running out of new skills to practice?

Every time you change a slider setting, apart from tradition/change, the tradition/change slider also moves one step towards change. This is also the explanation for your recent loss in learning ability, since a higher change-rating increases your learning ability.

holy moly, I wish I'd realised that from the start. I wasted a lot of slider moves getting that bar all the way to change, I could have been maxed out in nature and martial by now!

You should be aware, of course, that if you get killed, it ain't gonna be no fun to be maxed out on change. ;)

I don't hunt bears and my village is full of pretty nice people... I don't see it as very likely I'll die any time soon.

To be honest I think linking any of the personal beliefs to faster LP gain is a mistake, as it makes it extremely unlikely that players will go the other way (XP is super powerful) I would prefer to see change giving you the ability to get a % refund on spent LP, with 100% change giving you a 100% refund (or very close to it) and 0% change giving you a 0% refund (alternatively just not letting you remove them.

bear wont murder you, only people will. sure right now the world is a pretty safe place to live, but this game has some very open PVP rules, I don't think it will be long before we start seeing PKs. Once you have all the non-combat skills, and your combat skill are up at the 70ish level, tradition starts looking more and more appealing, you know, just in case.
