How can I destroy 20ish mine suports without getting hit from the cave ins?

Because I just did. Is this a bug? Or intended feature?
First character died at the first mine suport, second character destroyed 20mine suports without getting hit once.

The nature of mine supports is that after one cave-in, cave-ins become progressively more likely. If you aren't getting any cave-ins by luck, then your odds remain high that you won't get a cave-in. Your first alt rolled poorly and got smashed by the rng, your second was fine. Just remember that the RNG giveth and the RNG taketh. =)

You dont understand, this isnt about getting caveins or not, because I ALWAYS GET ONE when I destroy a mine support, the thing is this second fresh alt I made NEVER gets hit, and I have already destroyed like 25 mine suports, 20 in a row without clearing rubble and another 5 in another game session.

I very rarely get hit by cave-ins from supports either, the last 10 I've destroyed have missed me everytime. I wondered if it was to do with where you stand. I always stand directly face on and centered to the support, idk if this has any bearing on being hit or not, but it was all I could think of - the debris falls around the support, not where it stood.
