Prerequisites to Sling?

I just started this game a week ago. I love it! I found that the wiki and forum helps tons with questions I have, but I can't find what Skills or what Items will unlock the Craft Sling option. Would someone point me to the direction of prerequisites to crafting items esp. the Sling? Or just give me the answer? I have Leather Working, Archery, Hunting, Foraging, and Primitive Tools for the Skills that I can think of that might unlock it. I haven't gotten my own leather or string yet. Would that be a factor to why I don't have the craft Sling option?

Yes. That is why you can't craft one yet. You must discover the materials needed for things (actually gain LP from discovering them) before you can make them.
