Java's security settings not letting me play the game

Postby Townsey » Mon Feb 03, 2014 2:32 am

I will keep this short and simple, sorry if this is in slightly the wrong place, i only just joined. Java is saying that your application is "Self signed application (Certificate not from trusted authority):
An application with self-signed certificate is blocked by default. Applications of this type present the highest level of risk because publisher is not identified and the application may be granted access to personal data on your computer. " I am not sure what to think of this but am interesting in the game and wish to get playing. If someone would be so kind as to tell me if everything is okay or if i have downloaded the wrong thing or something along those line it would be most appreciated. :D

Try google search for simple things like this first...
Check me out on Twitch! I stream many different games and it may seem my channel is inactive but that is because I am now restarting streaming! (Click the image :D)

Is it just me or can 90% of these noob security problems be avoided by using a far superior custom client.

I think its just you. I still had the security problem with the ender client on ubuntu, but I had obviously knew what was wrong and how to fix it.

Fritz equal what superdupa superior client you are using as long it's based on Java there's no differences - the point is being able to read / search at forums (this and OS related) and also the Oracle Java support pages ;)

And the only client i know not based on Java is boshaws - have fun getting it to run properly when trying ... i gave up on coding a HnH client based on just another language ;)

This actually happened to me; go to Java configuration--->Security Tab---->change security settings to medium.

Then you will only get a pop-up asking if you want to run it, instead of it being blocked entirely.
