Aim meter inconsistencies?

Postby SarcasticSoul » Sun Feb 09, 2014 3:43 am

So I have a 20 marksman score, and most of the time this allows me to get the aim meter up to a decent amount and hit about 75% of the time. However, for some reason, the speed at which the aim meter raises is inconsistent. Sometimes it raises quickly enough to get to about 70-75% full, but the on the next shot it raises slowly and can't raise higher than 30-40% full. I've searched the wiki up and down and can't find any reason why this should be happening. My stamina and hunger meters aren't changing, and the red attack bar seems to have no effect on it. What am I doing wrong here?

Different animals have different agility. The agility determines how much it goes up.

I know, but this is different shots in the same fight against the same animal. Is it just arrow quality?

Could be. Also could be level of animal.

I'm fighting a level 10 bear. The first two shots I took aimed at normal speed. The third shot slowed to a crawl. The fourth shot was even slower. They remained slow for about 4-5 shots, then the next was normal speed again. The next was the same, and the following was slightly faster. This is the kind of thing I'm experiencing. They're all Bone Arrows, but they were constructed at different times using different quality bones. Maybe that's the issue, then? They're in a quiver so I can't tell what quality I'm about to fire.

Yeah sounds like a q thing. The exact calculations on the wiki.

Higher q arrows are easier to fire than low q arrows
With 5q arrows and 360mm score it takes about 5 minutes for me to get a 10% aim bar on a stationary target.
With 150q arrows I can hit a running target.

Doesn't the range effect the charge time? I think if you are far away it takes longer to aim.
