Stuck in Boat

Postby jshsutton » Sun Feb 09, 2014 9:20 pm

I couldn't find anything regarding my issue in previous posts so I resort to creating one myself.
With that said, I have been playing for a while now and found a workaround but really need to figure out my issue:

My character cannot get out of a boat.

I make very clear that I am in shallow water which would allow for exiting and have tried holding "Control" + "Clicking Anywhere near the boat" yet my character refuses to leave.

I am VM'ing a Windows 7 on a Mac Book Pro and was wondering if this may be the issue since I am using a Mac Keyboard but have tried the "FN"; "Control"; "alt/Option"; & "Command" Keys with the clicking out of the boat with no success.

I also use Enders Client.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Why dont you use osx? you gotta click the land near the boat to get out.

I will attempt it on OSX. Also, I click every square near the boat, land & shallow water - nothing happens

I'll reply with attempting on the OSX - give me a few

Ok, the reason I VM is I have always been a Windows guy and know how to do things on Windows. I can't get H&H to open and play on my OSX. I will continue to attempt but in the meanwhile is there anything you can think of that may be my problem on the VM?

Im running VMware and use the Windows 7 as my gaming PC so if anything happens to it I can just delete the one file and start over with a fresh OS.

I updated Enders Client and still have the issue where I cannot get out of a boat. I find it simply crazy as I know I am holding CTRL+LMB *clicking on land adjacent to the boat.

I know as simple as this sounds but I am unable to hunt due to it as I am not strong enough to just run up to a boar and shoot/punch it in the face. :|

Found a much better workaround!! There is an onscreen keyboard with Windows 7 - I just click the Ctrl button - it highlights - I left click out the boat - and done!

Sheesh what a ridiculous thing haha Hope if anyone else has this problem they can do as I did

i wonder if there's a feature in VMware for keyboard mapping

i.e. http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/micros ... Id=1001675
Selecting multiple list items To use Ctrl+click as you would in a normal Windows environment:

To do so permanently, disable the mouse shortcut for the secondary button:
Go to VMware Fusion > Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Mouse Shortcuts.
Disable Secondary Button, so that it no longer maps to = Control - Primary Button.

For a temporary workaround, press and hold Ctrl-Option while clicking to select multiple items.

maybe this helps
