Pointers

Hi

I recently started HnH about 3 weeks ago. I get 1 or 2 hours every so often to get on and for the first 2 weeks i picked a direction and just walked, picking up what i thought was worth something (Google>wiki>read>discard/eat) then moving on. I got knocked out twice by boars but thankfully never killed.

1 week ago i found somewhere i think is pretty good and at this point i have a cabin, some crops, a wall of sorts. Unfortunately the two chickens i picked up to start a chicken coop with passed away last night :(

I leave a basket or two outside of my claim with food maybe a curious or two for other new guys maybe having issues. So far im enjoying HnH. I realise this may be put to the test when less friendly individuals find me!

So after the brief intro, my reason for writing.

I have followed Svens beginners guide to the end, but im stuck with the problem of what is best to get up. Survival or exploration ?

I intend to farm with this character so thats a priority

Thanks for reading. Happy hunting (men or animals :D )

It's important to get the swimming skill as soon as possible, you can use it to find curiosities in the water, and it's much cheaper, if you cant afford boatbuilding :)
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

General newbie tips
http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Foraging
-Set goals on what you want to forage
-get survival equal to the highest thing you've foraged+1
-make nettle clothes for the +suv bonus
-make an alternate character for farming, so you lose less if you die foraging
-spam the crap out of perception food (mainly carrots) for your forager
-rush a palisade > rush a brick wall(build it AROUND your palisade, not inside)
-don't go swimming until you've researched it/aren't a retard

Don't listen to overtyped he is just being a troll and do NOT buy swimming untill you get your con up or you will drown. Also i would recommend a foraging alt to get curis while not risking your farmer and raise exp and survival on forager and surv and farming and crafting skills on farmer
Check me out on Twitch! I stream many different games and it may seem my channel is inactive but that is because I am now restarting streaming! (Click the image :D)
