Killing high level animals

Hi there, I'm pretty new. Me and my crew settled down far away from the RoB to have enough room for expansion, but the animals there are way to hard for us so I made it my job to protect my friends. My question is how much marksmanship I will need to hit level 8 creatures. I'm at 8 right now and was able to only land a single hit to a fox. Thanks in advance.

Not really. I take it you're quite new based on your ranged skill level. As you progress you will gain lp much much more quickly.
1. You do tasks which generate more lp (such as killing stronger animals)
2. If you set your personal belief slider to 'change' than you will receive 3 times the normal Lp for each task.(you can also go full peaceful to make it 3.6x)

Well, although it takes quite a few arrows, I live in an area of lvl 7-8 animals and I am able to kill them from my boat with lvl 13 marksmanship, low quality bow and arrows. So you may be able to make it with marks lower than 30-40. I just of course have to be careful and run into my boat (Or cabin first to get my war gear) when an animal gets after me, I then kill them from the water. Just be sure to make a quill and try to keep it full cause it may take you 20-30 shots to kill it but you will probably do it with a full quill.

Thanks for the quick answers. My Village is a mess, we got foxes, boars and even a bear in it, they are impossible to beat for us and we can't work because of them. I only have 11 HHP left (can I die if 0 HHP? Even from an animal?) and we can't finish our loom for bandages.

well if you put down a claim, animals won't spawn on it, and you can build a little roundpole fence to keep them from wandering in.

and yes, you can die with hhp = 0
i suggest you make yourself a gauze if possible.
